I'm in Bowen Island this week writing my little heart out with friend and author Mary J. Forbes .
How is your summer going? Are you travelling the world? Firing up the barbeque in your own back yard?
Post a comment about your favorite vacation spot, include a link to pictures if you can, and I'll put your name in a draw for some great summer reading material!
Prize draw will be in about 10 days :)

Have fun. It's been a good summer. I wish we were going to Hawaii. I've been there a couple of times and was hoping we would go this summer because we can stay with a friend and save money.
I'm not doing anything this summer. Except staying indoors where it's cool. :)
And writing. Trying to finish the current mess. Trying to ignore the new heroine who keeps wanting to talk my ears off. She's not at all subtle. *g*
The last vacation we took was a drive up into the Rockies. My favorite place up there so far is Estes Park. (http://www.estes-park.com/pictures/)
Of course, the ultimate spot for me would be a trip to the Upper Penisula of Michigan. I love it there. Just north of Marquette is Sugarload Mountain. It's a hike, but the view is worth it. (http://www.lakesuperiorphoto.com/sugarloaf_mountain/photos_sugarloaf_mqt.html)
Enjoy your vacation. The closest I'm getting this year is a trip into Denver.
Sorry. That last URL for Sugarloaf fell apart. Try this:

This summer I am staying close to home but our favorite spot to visit was Nanoose Bay close to Parksville on Vancouver Island. Of course visiting the family in Vancouver makes any visit out west enjoyable.
Jane, ahhhh Hawaii...definitely brings back fond memories. Hope you get to go soon!
Tori, I've had those damned noisy heroines in my ears too lol! Good luck with writing :)
B.E. that area in Michigan sounds gorgeous! Love the link pic!!
Hey, Sis, you're right about Parksville. Hope you're having an awesome summer
Later this year we are off to Scotland for a week with the dogs in a cottage but I have to say that in recent years my favourite is The Gower in south Wales:

If I had to pick somewhere further afield I would love to go back to Australia - swimming on the Great Barrier Reef takes some beating!

PS: There's not a lot to do in the evenings in Scotland so the reading material would come in handy...!
I used to love to go to Tucson, when we lived close enough. People thought we were crazy, going in the summer & carrying umbrellas, but, hey, it's monsoon season! :-) Sorry I don't have any pictures for a link. One of these days, I'd love to go back. We haven't done anything this summer but stay home. (At least the manuscript is progressing...slowly...)
