I'm not ready yet ...

The 2010 Winter Olympics are going to start here in just a couple days. I'm feeling a little like I do every Christmas, I know it's coming but I just need a few more days to get ready.

I've already been caught up in torch traffic through my city. Not fun. Sure it's amazing to see the Olympic torch making its way through the streets of your home town but not so great when you're fighting tens of thousands of cars to try and avoid the street closures.

Many of my friends are just ditching the city and travelling. I don't blame them but, still, I'm hoping to catch a few of the sights and sounds of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Will you be watching the Olympics? Are you a fan?

Are you planning to attend any of the events?

I probably will watch some of the events.

I like to watch the figure skating. I like the winter Olympics a lot more than the summer. I might have to pack up and take a vacation too if the Olympics was in my city!

Are you kidding??? I am a total Olympics junkie!!! I will watch all kinds of weird events I'd never watch normally. Though I have to wonder how the skiing, snowboarding, and sledding events are going to manage with so little snow. I wanted to ship you guys OUR snow. :)

I love the Olympics. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the names (I'm horrible with names) but I'm looking forward to watching Apolo Ohno and Shawn White.

I've always had a love for the games, but moreso since I went to Northern Michigan University (an Olympic training site when I was there 1988-92 and now the Olympic Education Center). I became friends with a guy who did the biathalon, hung out with a speed skater and I dated an Olympic badminton player. (Yes, that's really an Olympic sport.) I only ever saw the speed skater on TV, but it was really special to be able to shout for someone I knew.
