The Name Game

It's that time.

Time to
pick a name
for a character.

I've read through my book of 1001 Baby Names (my 1st choice for 1st names).

I've perused the credits of a couple of movies (my 2nd choice for 1st names).

Usually a name comes to me but this time I'm drawing a blank so I'm coming to you, my dear blogging pals, for help.

Here's what I know:

Male
Forty years old
Balding
Widow
Last name is Booth.

What are your suggestions?

My brain is stuck on Chester. Who the heck knows why! Although I do think Trevor Booth sounds good. Hope you find the right one. I'm terrible with names.

Questions:

General location? A man in the south would have a different name than the same guy in the north.

Ethnic background? German? Italian? French?

If he was born in 1967, were his parents part of the hippy generation?

If you don't know any of this I'm a fan of full names: Johnathan, Steven, William, Edward. =o)

Pick something unique. Something that is not in 1,001 Names. How 'bout Thugwald? Or Bertramm?

Anissa, I actually used Chester in my first book (for a pet - lol)! Nice to know I'm not the only one bad with names.

Oh b.e., you've asked all these interesting questions that I haven't a clue how to answer. Won't know his background etc until I write him in a little. Hmmm, but I like William.

John, my 1,001 Name book has Bertram (which might work) but not Thugwald. Actually, Thugwald (Thuggy for short) might work well for another guy down the road ...

You've been a great help!
