Feeling a little Grinched?

Well, it's done. The decorating that is. Every year I say the same thing: "I'm NOT putting up ALL the decorations." Every year my children smile and nod knowingly as ALL and sometimes more than ALL (the extras bought on sale after Christmas the previous year) manage to crowd the house.

Yes, it's true. I'm an excessive holiday decorator. I've found a way to crowd the house with items from all the major occasions; Halloween, Christmas and, yes, even the arrival of the Easter Bunny. Holidays arrive and kitschy crap explodes onto every available surface. It's a sickness that's taken on mythic proportions.

How about you? do you exercise restraint in holiday decorating, or do you get a little carried away?

I don't decorate since the only person who will see it will be me.

Dru, I've been trying to think back to the days when I lived on my own and I can't remember if I decorated or not ... I do remember enjoying the festivities at friends' houses more so maybe I let them do all the work :)

You're right, I do enjoy everyone else's decorations.

I tell people that I decorate my house so that it looks like Santa exploded. (Well, not literally. That would be gross.) Today's the day we clean a little and splash a lot of holiday cheer around. It'll be awesome and wonderful and totally tacky. =oD

We don't have a single christmas decoration or card in our house. I'm working on Christmas eve and back to work the following Wednesday (Monday and Tuesday are bank holidays). We just enjoy this time of year for a bit of peace and quiet in front of the fire.
