The Party Continues

Ten things I did this weekend to celebrate my three-book sale to Penguin.

1) Answered dozens of congratulatory emails.

2) Made many excited phone calls.

3) Ate ice cream for breakfast.

4) Shared a bottle of chardonnay with my hubby.

5) Watched the movie Cars with my kidlets and ate my weight on popcorn.

6) Enjoyed the fabulous flowers sent to me by friend, author Mary Forbes.

7) Had lunch with my mother and father in-law.

8) Spoke to my website gal about exciting changes.

9) Had more wine.

10) Hugged my local bookstore manager because she was almost as excited as I was.

What's your favorite way to celebrate?

Hi Kris, thanks for the congrats! Your name's familiar . . . do I know you from eharlequin?

Kris Starr said...

Yes indeedy, you do. My alter ego is quite regularly on the eHar boards... the I Am Canadian thread, and once upon a time the Bat Cave... but most frequently the Pool and Day Spa. ;)

Hip Hip Hooray!
So glad I popped in just in time for the party! (linked over from Jana D)
Don't know how I missed you on eHarl, though. Different boards and all...never been to the I Am Canadian thread, can't imagine why...certainly drink enough of the stuff :)

Oh, no :( now I've got another blog I'll feel compelled to visit! Love to watch a rising star!
Super Congrats on the 3 book deal, Wendy. I'll be watching for the first release.

Lainey, great to see you! Which threads do you frequent at H/S?

I look forward to seeing you around my blog :)

Hi Wendy, thanks for the welcome :)

Mostly I hang with the 'Hoodies' in the Writing Round Robins ( a win there a while back helped convince me maybe this writing gig could become more than a form of venting or a hobby for me)

Sometimes I pop into the 'struggling writers' or 'sub care' just to keep up on the news.

But I'll venture around and keep an eye open for 'Windy' & 'Canya' ;P

Hey, Wendy!

So good to see you bloggin', girlfriend! Glad you enjoyed the blooms. As to your question... Celebrating for me is family and friends, bubbly and chocolate and shrieking (as you know, LOL), Snoopy dances and phone calls. Btw, your blog is now on my list of MUST-READS. :)

Later!

A big congrats, Wendy. I am a Signet author myself and welcome you to the fold in lieu of any other Signet folks hanging around. There are some really great folks on the Signet side and more of the same on the Berkley side. Who is your editor and who made the submission for you? My 4th book comes out in Jan, and I have a new contract for a couple more. Are you going to Left Coast Crime? I will be there as my son and his wife, not to mention my sister (who will be with me at LCC)live in the area. Hang around cloud nine as long as you can ... before the wonderful DEADLINES start.

Take care,
Leann Sweeney

Hi Leann, thanks for the congrats and for welcoming me to the fold! I'm very excited. My editor is Kristen Weber. How about yours? I really, want to go to LCC but need to clear some other things from my schedule first.
Please pop in and visit here often and especially remind me to run out and buy your book in January!
