Have you heard about this? A poor little ol' humpback whale calf thinks a yacht is its mother. And I think I'm confused.
What am I confused about? One of my characters is putting me through the ringer. I can't figure out whether I should make him very evil, or very good. You'd think such a decision would be easy. You're either good or bad, right? Hmmmm. Perhaps I should make him good with a tendency to do bad things.
Do you believe that most people who commit crimes are basically good?

I've always pretty much thought criminals were bad. They might have good aspects (like hardened murderers who think child molesters are the worst scum of the earth and I can't really argue the point), but mostly I think not. But what do I know? *g*
Your question Wendy reminds me of the movie "Mr. Brooks" who has an evil alter ego that makes him kill people with much care that he has not been caught because who would suspect a man who is such a good father and husband; perceptions can be very deceiving I think criminals such as those that abuse others are bad. Maybe your character can be like Mr. Brooks kind and loving but with an evil alter ego that only he can see.
