Gung hay fat choy!

It's Chinese New Years. Well, yesterday was officially New Year's Day but it goes on for 15 days. It's the year of the rat which can gross me out if I think about it too hard LOL.

On the Chinese Zodiac I'm a Rabbit and this is what they say about us rabbits:

The Rabbits of the Chinese Zodiac tend to act more like bunnies, whether they like it or not. Timid and attractive, the Rabbit is the kind of fluffy ball you want to cuddle lovingly. As a result, they're extremely popular and have a wide circle of family and friends. Their compassionate nature also leads them to be very protective of those they love. Where romance is concerned, their sentimentality is the reason they idealise relationships, a quality that compels them to give more than they realistically should.

You can click HERE to find out your Chinese Zodiac sign. Are you a Rabbit too? Come back and let me know!

Okay, apparently I'm a Monkey.

"The Monkey is most definitely a big party animal. Charming and energetic, Monkeys crave fun and activity. They can often be seen moving from one group of friends to another, attracting a motley crew in the process. Forever upbeat, they are considered minor celebrities in their circle, thanks to their effervescent wit and quick mind. They are also very good listeners and cope with complicated situations with ease. The natural curiosity which Monkeys possess leads them to become knowledgeable on a broad range of topics. The exhibitionist in them loves nothing more than to impress their friends with all they know."

Too funny!

I'm a tiger.

Chinese sign profile: Tiger
Tigers may not be the king of the jungle, but these cats are certainly no wimps. Magnetic and self-possessed, Tigers are born leaders. They have an air of authority that prompts others to fall in line, which is exactly how they like it. Despite this, they often adopt the pose of a lone wolf, preferring to stalk their "prey" on their own. Time is of the essence to Tigers, the better to get ahead and stay there.

Courageous beyond compare, Tigers generally come out ahead in battle, whether at home or at work. Noble and warm-hearted, Tigers tend to have a raw appeal which is extremely attractive to the opposite sex. Tigers will fight for what's right until the bitter end if they believe the cause is worthy. Opponents are wise to fear a feline that can smell victory a mile away.

A bit of caution is a good thing around Tigers, since they can pounce without much warning. They experience mood swings and often feel things more intensely than others, that latter quality being both good and bad. They often react poorly under stress and are prone to emotional outbursts. It's the rough sensitivity that can cause friend and foe to run for cover.

A lesson that Tigers would be well-served to learn is "moderation in all things." Once these cats can find their centre and direct their considerable energies toward worthwhile endeavours (as opposed to racing through life), they will accomplish much.

The most compatible match for a Tiger is the Horse or Dog.

Any horses or dogs out there that need a tiger???

I'm a Rooster...

"The Rooster is the strutting peacock of the Chinese Zodiac. These quick thinkers are also practical and resourceful, preferring to stick to what is tried and tested. They are also keenly observant. It's unlikely anything will get past Roosters, since they seem to have eyes in the back of their head. This quality often leads others to think the Rooster is psychic. The Rooster would prefer to be known as straightforward, one who will reward honesty in kind."

It then goes on to call me vain and say something about going out on the town. XD

Hey fellow rabbit! I only just discovered my hopping nature--always thought I was a dragon. But since I'm a January birthday, I fell into the very end of the year of the rabbit. So there you go. Little Bunny FooFoo.

I'm a dog. (Not always the best thing for a gal to say, but it does have it's advantages.)

"Loyal, faithful and honest, the Dog has a firm code of ethics to live by and can be counted on in times of need." Woof.

It says I'm a horse:

"Thank Heavens for open spaces, because the Horse needs plenty of room to roam. Energetic, good with money and fond of travel, Horses are the nomads of the Chinese Zodiac, roaming from one place or project to the next. Which is why it is a good thing they know how to budget. All of this searching on the part of the Horse may be to satisfy a deep-rooted desire to be accepted. Even so, these dual-natured souls often find themselves balancing this desire with a yearning for independence and freedom.

Horses also crave love and intimacy, a double-edged sword since it often leads to them feeling trapped and they really do need their room. That said, love connections come easily to Horses, since they exude the kind of raw sex appeal that is a magnet to the opposite sex. Check out any A-list party, and you're almost certain to find the Horse in attendance. Although they're not very cerebral, Horses more than make up for it with a sharp wit and a scintillating presence. Surprisingly, Horses tend to feel a bit inferior to their peers, a quality that causes them to drift from group to group out of an irrational fear of being exposed as a fraud."

I gotta say, that doesn't sound much like me. In the regular zodiac, I'm a taurus, and the typical characteristics associated with that are pretty darn close to my actual personality.

conley730, LOL at any horses or dogs wanting a tiger. Maybe I should do a Zodiac dating service?!

Chandra, my daughter is also a rooster.

Anissa, bunny foo-foo number two!

b.e., dogs ARE man's best friend, right?

bithalynn, I don't think the rabbit sounds much like me either. Except for the good stuff. I'll take the good points but any of the bad stuff, nope, that's not me =8-p

This is apparently my year. I'm a rat. And am very unsure if that's a good thing or not! The mix of good with bad traits seem to lean toward the bad. I think I'll stick with the "Clever and quick-witted, Rats revel in wretched excess and are utterly disarming as well. They are possessed of excellent taste and flaunt it at every opportunity. To top it all, they get along with almost anyone and have a good number of loyal friends."

I'll just leave out all the bad stuff. :)

I'm a rabbit! Baby is the Year of the Pig (last year). She now has a collection of pigs for which she will undoubtedly hate me later in life. Oh, well, she will have to hate me for something, I suppose.
